A few miles from where I live in rural East Texas, there was a home-based company making concrete lawn "art."  One day, I noticed they'd put in pride of place a really crappy rendition of the Statue of Liberty.  Maybe 3' tall, painted green, had the position wrong.
To me, it summed up East Texas, or at least one side

They knew they were leaving and started giving stuff away rather than pack it and tote it to the new digs.
We should have known when they started saving cardboard boxes.

Your friend, or your partner in the squad car?

Not exactly like Real Housewives is it?

You could try sneaking in some early Joni Mitchell.  That could be a world changer for your daughter.

I suggest the You Bet Your Garden website.  Good info and all organic, so no poisons spilling over into the ecosystem.
And in the long run, organic is less expensive than relying on pesticides, chemical fertilizers, etc.

Love—it's all you need.

Honey mustard bbq sauce, yum.

Even though I'd explained to my idiot brother several times that when I was online, he couldn't get me by phone—and he had a computer and was online as well—when he couldn't get in touch with me for a couple of days, he sent the police to my house.
Moron used to send me emails complaining that he couldn't get online.

I love hazelnuts, I do.

The comments are half the game, so I'm in.

The word so far is Pitchfilm, or Pitchfork's attempt at redemption engineered by recruiting half the old timers here at AVC.

Dear Mr. Rabin;
If you decide to come back here and comment as a regular person, please adopt a user name we will all recognize.  Like Nabin.
Not much chance of it, I know, but it's important to retain at least a little hope.

Never got the love for Travolta.  His eyes are too close together.

Tap, the Gregory Hines half musical/half gangster film that wasn't as bad the second time I saw it.

If we can follow and comment freely, as we more or less do here, then Pitchfilm will stand a chance of turning into what the AV Club has been.

Remember the pee-drinking man fish?  Those were the days, eh?

And just imagine what it's like for those of us who don't watch tv.

And it was on hulu as well, for free when I managed to watch the first half or so before the coma threatened.
