That guy used to make the rounds. I saw him at a showing of Sinbad, The Sailor at a theater on 23rd St. in NYC at around the same time, around '87 or '88. No special reason as I recall. Somebody scheduled a showing and invited him and he showed up and spoke.

Total gimmick.

In a theater it's great. The atmosphere provided by the sets, costumes and photography contributes hugely to the emotional impact. As has happened so many times before, watching on a small screen in a living room will disappoint those with unrealistic expectations.
