Uhh Yeah Dude # 366 (I'm tired of Podmass being a week behind on the best podcast in the world).

Those two podcasts are far and away the best on Maximum Fun, and I'd donate to them if it didn't mean that Jesse Thorn would get some of my money.

Hey Joanna, your shit is wack.

    BAAARRFF!!!

The show has managed to present the big tentpoles of Martin's plot without any of the nuance, humor, or depth.  Experiencing the end of ASIOAF through the show first would be an enormous disappointment.

The difference is that Martin knows, at least in broad terms, where he is going with the story.  All those TV shows were written season to season with no plans beyond that. Of course his ending might still be unsatisfying, but it won't be a LOST situation where they didn't even try.

The cable companies ARE the ISPs these days.  I'd rather give more money to HBO directly than to ATT, who fucked me with a $100 service fee a couple months back when their equipment just decided to crap out one day.

It's weird that they're making it part of internet packages, though.  Can't I just give 10/15 dollars a month to HBO directly?

I would've scoffed at you until I heard The Crimson Idol a couple of years ago.  What an amazing album!  WASP doesn't deserve to be lumped in with the LA glam bands.

People refuse to accept that something they cared about died a slow, ugly death.  5 and 6 are terrible, especially considering the showrunners had 3 years to end the show and all the money in the world.

Give me the messy ambition of seasons 2 and 3 any day over the blandness of Season 1, especially the first half.

Dan Harmon's facebook messages brought to you by Ketel One.

It absolutely has.  Season 3 was terrific, not a single bad episode.  Season 4 was mostly the same set of jokes over again, with some ideas that were outright terrible. I gave up after that.

I think one of the really awesome things about UYD is that it is so insular.  They never talk about their personal lives much - except for funny anecotes or whatever - because the illusion is that you're their friend.  So you'd already know what's going on in their lives; UYD is the time you get to hang out and have a

I know this is unlikely, but do they happen to talk about X-men at all?

I remember hearing Maron talk about meeting Jonathan and how his lady is a UYD fan, but I didn't know he actually got them.  I'm not a regular WTF listener - has Maron ever done two at a time before?

There's an ep of Jordan Jesse Go they did, and Seth doesn't say much.  He was probably too busy wondering how that podcast has fans.

It really was a terrific episode.  I was hoping they'd pull out some more failed/interrupted overheards like on his last one.

Terrific episode of Uhh Yeah Dude this week - the guys, Seth especially, seemed goofier than usual.

Carnivale was a bit slow at times, but that second season had a HELL of an ending.
