A lot of really great looking cinematography this week, Asylum is totally stepping up their game in regards to their aesthetics. The warm, glowing underground bits were all gorgeous, especially incorporating the red neon. What a fantastic and ominous atmosphere. Even though the effects in this show are never top of…
Definitely not the show's best episode, but still quite enjoyable! The charm of having Doc and 10K back together overshadowed a lot of the bizarre plot devices, and the persistent ridiculousness and irreverence of Z Nation's zombie apocalypse continues to bring me joy in an otherwise grimdark-saturated tv landscape.
I totally agree on the fantastic directing of this episode! There were a lot of great shots this week, but the ones that especially stood out to me were those of Red leading 10K through the wilderness; it was just the right mix of mystical and post-apocalyptic.
The past few weeks have been alright, but this episode brought back the mix of ridiculousness and oddly quality television I've come to expect from Z Nation!
Loving the Murphy and 10K plot, as well as Citizen Z finally getting some human interaction up north, but I'm not too hot on the rest of the group being separate. The show is definitely stronger with its whole ensemble cast sharing the screen.
That cannibalistic Katamari Damacy-esque zombie ball served as an excellent reminder as to why I keep watching this ridiculous show. It certainly is some good, dumb fun.
I'm pretty hyped this show is back, and hyped it's getting some notice on here as well!
I'm liking this season a lot so far, especially how much more… lived-in it feels. A lot of my issues with season one stemmed from my own perceived sterility and narrative-shallowness of it, but it's really coming into its own now!
