I gotta be honest…the best thing I remember about Dom in that movie was the bloopers with Burt in the end…on Cannonball…Smokey and Bandit 2 as well. You can tell they really had a lot of fun making those movies.

Don't forget Speedzone…I remember really enjoying The Gumball Rally as a young kid as well. That badass Camaro Gary Busey and his team mate were driving, Raul Julia in the Ferrari Daytona racing the Shelby Cobra 427 in the LA river :P~ car porn

I gotta say this doc was the first thing I can remember watching on cmt…basically ever. It was wonderful though.

I figured that character was supposed to be based on Hal Needham's directing at least partially…or possibily a little bit of Roger Corman or even Steven Spielberg?

I consider Hooper to be Jan Michael Vincent's greatest work up there with The Mechanic as well on a side note.

Deliverance and White Lightining were great…classic Burt. :)

He wasn't bad in The Longest Yard remake…and I generally loath remakes.

"Boy, where's Sheriff Branford?" "I am Sheriff Branford." " Hehe…You sounded taller on radio." "What the hell is the world coming too?"

I always thought it was funny they had the voice of Fred Flintstone(not the original actor, the actor who voiced Fred in the 80s in the cereal and vitamin commercials) do the overdub. Good old TBS Super Station recorded vhs taped version I wore out in my youth :)

Hooper is a pretty damn good movie, better than Stroker Ace or the Cannonball movies(gotta love those bloopers at the end though). I have always had strong feelings for White Lightning (1973), just something about it…that brown sedan, the car chases and stunts, the old school silent tough guy acting, the deliciously

I think Jackie may have known Hal Needham because of their ties in the stunt community.

Oh yeah…he rides in a Mitsubishi with Richard "Jaws" Keil (from James Bond movies, The Longest Yard and Happy Gilmore)in that one…

*Texarkana… fixed it ;)
