Surely they offered this to Harrison Ford firs- I mean, before Neeson? Maybe they finally decided he was too old to play middle-aged fathers trying to save their families from criminals?

gimmick cop shows
The strange thing about these shows is they take one small aspect of police work and make an entire show and cast of characters out of it, just like Criminal Minds (which isn't a bad show) does with profiling.

An economic crisis in the Marvel Universe? How would that affect an actor? Even with massive budget cuts at S.H.I.E.L.D., I'm sure Nick Fury wouldn't be laid off.

I thought Kara showed herself to be real bitch when the girl auditioned who was a big fan of her. She had a huge notebook with songs she had written (even if those songs are crap, that's more talent than most of the show) and the judges seemed to be impressed.
