The Thing-ness of it to me was in contrast to Modern Family, which kept building up the Thing until it was revealed to be more of a Half-Baked-Thing.

To pile on with Baby Face, Cheers was nearly cancelled during its first season. It also went on to become a number-one show.

I mean, "could" is not "will" or even "should." It's much more likely that Community would be picked up by a *service* as opposed to a *network.*

I believe that Hulu is US-only because broadcast rights are country-by-country. Since Hulu is owned by corporations in the US, it makes perfect sense to me.
