@avclub-4493a2ff6a6e6f236727b9b2f6cecb12:disqus As a Connecticut native, it really doesn't strike me as that unrealistic. There are actually several top prep schools Lorelai could have gone to. Some of the most prestigious private schools in the country (such as Choate and Miss Porters) are an easy drive from

Holy shit, I think we're from the same town.

I don't think that anyone can become a conspiracy nut guy in this fandom. Everything is so convoluted.

I can understand where you're coming from and you made a good point, but I still think that scene really ignored a lot of Cat's characterization from the books. In the first novel, she claims to be worried that Jon (or his descendents) might pull a Blackfyre and try to challenge Robb's claim to the North. This is her

Agreed. They were both outclassed by the Lannisters in the books when it came to scheming, but even if their worst decisions had understandable motivations. Marrying Jeyne and freeing Jaime definitely weren't smart things to do, but they made sense because both Cat and Robb were overwhelmed by grief and not thinking

This! So many people seem to misunderstand why Catelyn dislikes Jon! It really wasn't just shallow jealousy. She explicitly states in the book that she doesn't mind Ned having a bastard, but she's worried that Jon is treated like a true born son. And there is precedent in Westerosi history for favored bastards trying

Regarding your last comment (I really hope this is showing up in the right place, I have no idea how this commenting system works), that part always confused me too.

We know for certain that Joffrey didn't choke. After his death, they performed an autopsy and didn't find any obstruction in his throat. Pycelle claimed that his death looked like the work of a poison called the strangler.

I've heard rumors that they're planning on combining Books 4 & 5 into one season. And, let's be honest, there isn't much substantial plot movement in either.

I don't usually comment, but as a fan of the books I think I should warn you that going on a wiki and risking spoilers won't clarify anything. The show is playing pretty fast and loose with the source material when it comes to Dany's subplot, which I think is one of the reasons why it's so incoherent.
