I found Wesley to be more of an asshole than a badass. But to be fair the writers did show that he was an emotional cripple underneath all of his macho posturing.

It's still Fox's highest rated sitcom so there was really no need to get too worried.

A little throwaway moment I loved was Jesse muttering "Never put me down" when Jax bench pressed her. The fact that Jack never acknowledged that she said  made it funnier.
