I'm actually very short "Jewtalian" myself (although I kind of hate that term), but my theory on the Italian = Jewish in Hollywood is that the ethnic group they're really aiming for is "New Yorker". So Italian/Jewish/Greek/etc translates to any actor who's swarthy with an "attitude".

It was very mumblecore-y. I liked it alright. It's one of those movies where almost nothing happens. It had some good images though. I wonder what I would think of it now that 'Girls' exists, since it covers a lot of the same territory.
