Yeah, he's coming back.  This is a world where there's magic after all.

Right. That's the joke.

Speaking of that, why was it "okay" for Veronica - a high school student - to be dating a cop?  That always struck me as strange.

Agreed.  It's really fun and like a delightful comic book come to life.

Middleman all the way.  I really want more people to experience this show.

My first response was "Steve McQueen is black?"

Yeah, he's really the only character that makes me smile (and even laugh!) on this show.  Also I'm glad the economics of their living situation was brought up.  I actually felt like Schmidt-Nick was the A-Plot, because I was more interested in it than the bell nonsense.

There is pregnant lady with three legs in this video.  Good job, internet.

Thank you.  I immediately tried to find a photo of this when I read about him in whiteface, but I couldn't find anything.  It's actually not as ghastly as I was imagining.  I was thinking it'd look more like White Chicks, but I guess they mostly used plastic goop for that.

Great random roles!  He's so thorough and seems to really love his work.

He really sucks.

I think he's probably just really depressed about Mira.  I don't think Carrie knows that Mira left him, does she?

heck, they can just have a spell cast on him or something!  Just make him not-terrible!

When I've recommended Homeland to friends, most of them have been like "ew, is it reactionary and conservative like 24?"  And asked other questions concerning the politics of the show.  When a show deals with subject matter like terrorism and war, politics gets involved and it impacts people's opinions, whether that's

Well, I feel like it was getting Carrie/Saul into place for stuff to go down with them next week.  They've identified the diplomet who's working with Walker and Brody.  That's a big step.

She was played by Barb from Cougar Town!  I blame the costume department more than her for the HBC imitation.

I mean, I realize this is an alternate history to some extent (there's no congressman named Dick Johnson), but I thought the show was being coy about naming the president.  The lady who wants Brody to run is a Democratic, right?  Anyway, I think it's fine to accept that it's not exactly our America because it's

Not really.  He identified him as his son in English, so Isa didn't hear that.

Do we definitely have a fictional president though?  They haven't mentioned the president by name ever and I assume that's on purpose.

Homeland has been marketed a little as "24 for liberals" (less torture-happy, less black and white).  The AV Club crowd skews liberal, I think.
