It's a comedy that also uses emotional moments effectively most of the time, yo.

It's very very not cool of the writers when they use Marshall's dad's death for a punchline. :(
Can I just say, since you mentioned it, Mighty Avengers is really great? Absolutely the best Avengers title currently.
I remember a week or two ago he had a segment where they went and mocked people on the street for wearing winter clothes in California. Like, this is what you want your show to be? Harassing random people on the street? Fuck you.
Yeah yeah yeah the Tonight Show and all (I think most of this review is very, very wrong) but can we talk about what a massive piece of shit Jimmy Kimmel is? It's like he's decided he wants to be the Nathan Fielder of mean-spirited, extremely unfunny "pranks." He's insufferable.
Fucking Christ.
Yes let's bring Hitler into this conversation
"Because, weirdly, getting addicted to cocaine turns Pam into a character with a hell of a lot more agency."
You need to stop. Calm down.
Glad you felt this so strongly that you thought it was necessary to word it two different ways and post it twice.
He's actually DEVOTING TIME OF HIS LIFE to "sparing others the pain" of watching a show he doesn't like. He obviously has nothing to do with his time.
Except there's a difference between actually criticizing a show and just mindlessly bashing it to be a dick, like you are.
Well maybe try not being an asshole who ruins talking about it for other people?
What was it he said? "Be a peach and bump this for me"? Perfect.
That doesn't mean it's not an annoying plot point that's been hammered on WAY too many times.
It really wasn't that bad except the occasional green screen stuff/Floating Robin. I think it's always worked in the series' favor for the most part.
Uh, no shit?
What I've learned from these comments: AV Club commenters fucking LOVE Kyle Mooney and must defend his honor at all costs apparently, despite the fact the man is an unfunny, plagiarizing hack. Is it because you see your own almost unfathomable nerdiness and social disorders in him?
Yes.
I thought this episode was pretty unfun and just bad in general, but it was also kind of like the HIMYM equivalent of ripping off a Band-Aid because it was unpleasant but it also seemed like it cleared up the most problematic ongoing plots, i.e. Ted still being obsessed with Robin, Marshall and Lily's stupid fight.
