Definitely, they showed him six hours later lying still with his eyes open to remove any doubt.

Seriously? You are correcting someone for properly using a word when a two second google search would have showed you it's a synonym for whereas?

I disagree, I would suggest Irving is one of the few novelists who came out of the womb fully formed. His first, Setting Free the Bears, feels like the work of a fully formed writer. I thought his last work In One Person was a bit forced for him, but the preceding Last Night in Twisted River had me very engaged. I

Which book are you referring to? I thought Midnight's Children was an accomplished work, and Midnight's Children is beautifully written although it feels disjointed at parts (suddenly the guy isn't a devil incarnate and it's just never mentioned again?). I'll admit I may have missed the symbolism at parts which is

Yeah that movie is good evidence that Willis and Pitt can put on a decent performance when they feel like it. If Willis remade that movie today it would just be him grunting with indifference for an hour and a half.

The Junos are notorious for having their nominees and winners determined by a formula that heavily favours record sales, hence Nickelback getting the rubber stamp and usually winning anytime they make an album even though they are critically reviled even at home.

I've only ever read Generation X and didn't get the hype.

He's an arrogant ass and I dislike his personality but I think he's probably one of the more talented living writers.

Downvoted for including Irving.

It's like you're having a different conversation. The AVClub left people unable to not be spoiled by putting the picture on the front page. And the AVClub itself apologized for the spoiler and corrected it! It makes no sense to say people should not go on the AV Club if they don't expect the AV Club to spoil things

I would say it's pretty self centered to say that a patrons of a website that has a culture of spoiler avoidance that is generally accepted and supported by the majority should all change their opinions and expectations to succumb to what you, personally, think is fair. But you know, that's just my selfish opinion.

What about multiple hotels? That was a house rule that I don't think is actually permitted.

Counter-point - the script was full of cliches from start to finish. It also had a lot of ridiculous moments, like when the king lantern guy is explaining to Ryan Reynolds that the ring magically gives him all kinds of knowledge about their society and the clan of the lantern etc. etc., and that's why he intuitively

Is it that hard to read them all? I have to read the whole page even if I do hate half of them. I mean they're all right there! It's this kind of laziness that's ruining this country!

I still think that made absolutely no sense. He would rather die then have his invincible son save the dog? He would rather die then let the dog die?? Only in movies do people who are not insane religious zealots die for vague principles.

Pretty much, except for that fossil of a cowboy riding a T-Rex.

I'm curious about the animation segments given MacFarlane's involvement; was it full of jokes about incest, rape, pedophilia and terminal illness?

Call it Lena Dunham Syndrome

You raise a good point. I've been writing as a hobby for 15 years with the long term goal of getting published, and I have been working on my current project for 4 years (I'm a third through my first full rewrite and then I'll probably hire a line editor to make it clean and then look for an agent). I'm a lawyer and

I would never dabble in something like Bitcoin because I'm too stupid to understand it, but even with the recent dip anyone who bought last year looks pretty good. Of course I have no idea how you buy or sell the stuff so I don't know if you can even realize those gains.
