I saw it - Foster is fantastic, but a lot of it is pretty rote. The "twenties people do this, old people do this!" stuff didn't have any bite whatsoever; it really felt like someone had a desire to dig up a bunch of dumb jokes and stereotypes and then pretend like the obviousness of the references were the joke.

My office building has been airing ads for this on the little screen thingy for ages. I somehow missed entirely that it had Sutton Foster. That one fact has made me a million times more likely to watch it than any ad I've seen.

Oh okay, thanks! I will definitely grab a look, then.

Wait, when did I miss that this show is apparently going to be a Prison Break reunion?

It's weird people are mentioning that they didn't see Maslany in the trailer: I saw the first trailer of this movie when it came out and basically the only reason I immediately put it on my calendar was noticing Maslany right away (plus Helen Mirren and Daniel Bruhl and Charles Dance etc).

I love Tatiana Maslany and think she should be in everything, but Bruhl was far and away the best part of Rush, which is a movie more people are likely to have heard of than Orphan Black.

if it came from Zach Lowe, I'd probably be more likely to believe it.

Please let us know where you end up moving these! I've really enjoyed reading your thoughts.

So I mentioned last month that I was a fan of The Twilight Kingdom (you'll be happy to note that this is probably the slowest-paced of the Divergent Universe arc). Just wanted to mention that I'm 100% with you on Arrangements for War; both the positives and the negatives here.

"I love JLD. I love Force Majeure. But this feels so unnecessary."

oh, no problem, sorry if it came off that way! just reminded me of similar posts from yesterday with more of an edge :)

"I finally came to the conclusion that Gautum should be the name of a character in a movie set in the Middle Ages or something, but is futuristic at the same time."

I'm glad you mention Do Bigha Zamin - it's a very powerful movie and definitely an important precursor to the better-known names in Indian New Wave.

I pronounce it "hut-gahm."

I enjoyed him in Oz a lot.

"Also that Gautam guy whose named just looks like an anagram"

It's possible - my suspicion (given that Macy got the show's nomination) is that they don't *like* what it has become and preferred it as the irreverent, occasionally-meaningful, largely drunk-pushing-the-boundaries comedy it was. Whether that's because of what they expect or what they want is up to you, though I'd

"I haven't seen much of the American Shameless, but the original was definitely a comedy first and a drama second."

Yeah, I agree. I'm not sure why, if this is how the Emmys want to go, they just don't do "hourlong" and "half-hour long" and avoid all of this borderline classification stuff.

Yup, me too!
