That lab needs the HAL 9000 from 2001. It's severely under-staffed.

What if she doesn't even own her own time? Then it's Continuum! That show has a more realistic take on corporate power. Then again, Continuum doesn't often try to be a comedy, and it characters are mainly sentimental.

I doubt that was exactly regional theater. Yes people are very picky about these things. It was community theater all the way.

This season was Led Zeppelin II. Not sure why they're singing blues with proper British accents, but the groundwork is laid for the creative albums: III, ZoSo, Houses of the Holy, and P.G.

Yep, coming together. For a while I had given up trying to figure out Alex vs. Alex, corporation vs. corporation, timeline vs. timeline, but somehow about the scene bearded guy showed up, it fell into place without ever needing to really think about it. That must be a sign of decent writing.

The son on The Americans. Played by a different actor 33 years later.

Yeah this sort of ups the Jason Biggs quotient. I assume she'll play his love interest, or a Canadian immigration officer going after the Healy's mail order bride.

I think of Armisted as a relentless craftsman taking advantage of of the Portland situation to run up a few seasons, seemingly with ease. Maron on the other hand shows how hard it actually is for even a clever, psychologically insightful guy to make a little LA comedy adventure sitcom show. He's not doing

Sad Maron thread. Want to like this and have paid $1.99 for eps when I don't have cable, but after the second consecutive episode centering on a cat, I'm disappointed. He seemed so chipper about the new season on his podcast! Oh well, next week is a better guest cast: David Cross, Sally Kellerman, Judd Hirsch, CM

For no supportable reason I'm picking England to go far in my bracket until they get to Germany. Then I read in the Wall Street Journal that England's old-fashioned style of crossing play has been disproved by a finance professor (!) as a way to score.

Babe Ruth could do it with a jug of suds!

Only thing worse is the Intl Olympic Committee. Actually not as bad, but with higher ideals, so worse.

I wonder what Arthur Chu would do if he took over for Trebek. Would he turn the show into a nerd-fest, where players are chosen solely on merit? Or would he instead try to maximize short term ratings and profits by resorting to every gimmick imaginable, from celebrity contestants to super cute questions to scoring

Sorry, and thanks for that story.

Hmm I did not like the black/white game but I did like the lighthouse a lot. Just as a thing, a machine and an idea. The plot was unspooling poorly, I guess I could see that, but was glad to see one last decent device, like the polar bear cages and the button. And the pneumatic tube!

Hey look! I thought Canadians liked Big Bang Theory even more than U.S.!

The two couple "quadrangle" was the only character situation I got sick of. Jack / Kate / Sawyer / Juliet.

There was only one really supremely bad episode, the one with children in Roman days. I just hate that kind of stuff. The lighthouse a few episodes earlier was fantastic though.

They should have a general idea of the dates of admission of the states. They should know all the capitals of Africa.

I'm from the Sagan era but was stuck on "gogolplex" for a big number, even though Gogol was not a scientist (30 seconds sure does go fast). And it's actually googolpex, not gogolplex, and I didn't remember it's much bigger than "several billion." Billions and billions of times bigger.
