And because of the other people there no doubt.

She really added a lot to Hamlet 2 and had a good sense of humor about it. (She plays herself, movie career over, working as a medical clerk.)
Sometimes they'd rather be in prison, vs. "where the axe murderers go." State mental hospitals often have separate forensic units, so the choice may not be between prison and a mental ward based on their diagnosis. It can be based on a clueless judge's discretion. Obviously the large population of severely mentally…
Most likely federal crime leading to minimum security would seem to be fraud. The stalking case was probably for a restraining order. ??
No he really loves her.
spoilers.
She's the second character who has an astounding charisma, and she uses it for bad ends. The other was Daya, who can attract any man. Her mother mentioned that last season, and it's true, she does have a certain infallible shy smile. And Vee of course is very believable in her deadpan way, always knows what…
Might be the show defying expectations. Who thought Crazy Eyes would be such a jerk?
Yeah good point.
I liked Larry'n'Polly more this season. Not great but more colorful. And Larry's dad, Piper's lawyer, classic.
Spoiler I guess.
Too many escapes. Three if you include the teddy bear thing. What is this, Hogan's Heroes? Seriously though I did wonder why no one considered using that tunnel. Red, I could understand, she knew she'd just be caught and sentenced to more time. But *all* the others, a bunch knew about it too, right?
Did Vee realize it was a prison van on the loose? Did she feel a hope of redemption before it swerved?
I'm not sure she was actually embezzling. It may have been just kickbacks. The construction firm was donating to her husband's campaign. And the minor league duo had convinced themselves they had plans to reform things! That was pretty great.
Insightful review.
Writing process: remember getting busted for pot in eighth grade, mom yelled, dad made a psycho visit to my room in a cowboy hat. Resolution: I will instead hug my child, after dragging her around by the arm so she knows it's serious. The whole season is playing like a dream anyway!
But Louie missed out on that sweet librarian girl because he was doofing around with the weeds. That was the real stressor, right? For girls the issues are usually different. Whatever the issue is, it gets heightened. But as someone else pointed out, sharing joints puts unusual people together. Lily gets to meet some…
I agree OITNB is good at many things, including pushing a message of social justice and human dignity - how's that! - but Kohan's writing is shallow in a sense. It's always, take the obvious, add a twist. That's why you often can guess what's going to happen, unlike in Louie. It's really well-done though.
The counselor was a mixed bag because he also delivered the message about taking responsibility well. Adults that said stuff like that always sounded dumb to me.
Litchfield comes a little too close to how Brooke Soso imagines it will be.
She'd be more enjoyable if we found out she was scamming from the start to write a sensationalist book about her experience, exposing her comrade's secrets. And she'd be evil! Then Jenji Kohan swoops in to make it a three-dimensional showcase for some very good minority actors. (Haven't read the book, just speculating…
