actually correction: He WAS amusing, but then he just became sad. Like he ran out of things to say.

MY two (and a half cents)
I actually agree with everything you guys said (the actual post).

Comments (Better Late Than Never)
I've been posting on almost every Popless installment (except for a few). So anyway:

Turkey Hill is a brand of ice cream. Not Slurpees.

They have a pretty good music scene, what with Elliot Smith, Tilly and the Wall, the whole Saddle Creek crew, etc.

*recoils in horror after looking at this guy's 1997 pick*

I named this my list? I chose Los Campesinos! for 2008 (yes, over Vampire Weekend, She & Him, Beach House and No Age, but just barely. All five of those records are amazing) and i didn't work in the a pun to the song title "My Year In Lists"?
Seriously.

Oh wait…"Flood" by TMBG came out in 1990, didn't it?

I just went onto my winamp and clicked on the button to list my music chronologically.

hey! where did my second half go? Seriously the spammers have ruined commenting for everyone

My List
There's one tie in here, because it would be unfair for you to make me chose between those two albums. They are equally essential.
1989: The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses
1990: Ned's Atomic Dustbin - Godfodder
1991: [TIE] Slint - Spiderland/My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
1992: Phish - A Picture of Nectar
1993:

oh, I OWN "Press Eject…" and I agree with you that the last two (especially most of "In the Flat Field") sounded a bit like L&R, but not like "Go Away White" does. I mean, it really doesn't sound like Bauhaus, like I said, it sounded like Peter Murphy backed by Love & Rockets. And there's some good songs on "GAW", but

Manics and Love & Rockets
Those were the two bands that shot out as missing (they're in regrettably unremarked upon along with Magazine who are also good)

The only two songs you didn't asterisk that I like are "Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth With Money in My Hands" and "One Week".
"Tubthumping" is a truly terrible song by a truly excellent band (I suspect it was a satire of drunken yobs that was so good in its satire that it APPEALED to the

I love how he mixes swear levels using "fuck" six times, but then using "squid brains".
And Kanye has also used up the maximum amount of exclamation points one person is allowed to type in one month. He will now be reduced to using a |.

I remember buying "Brain Droppings" after my 10th grade English teacher told us to get a copy for class (yes, I was ASSIGNED to read that book, and instead of checking it out of a library I bought). It's such a shame he's dead. We have lost a legend. All the greats are gone: Chris Farley, Bill Hicks, Mitch Hedberg,

I can't listen to Laurie Anderson aside from in bits. "United States" is really overwhelming. Also, she apparently married Lou Reed last year. Good for her.

Goodie. So you've heard "You! Me! Dancing!" and "Death to Los Campesinos!". They're fantastic.

I like the Long Blondes, but I heard they suck live
