Um…so I take it you don't like Silversun Pickups' swirling distortion? or MGMT's ironic dance music or She and Him's incomparable awesomeness?

I apologize for posting that Four times, my browser wasn't working. Curse you firefox! Curse you to hell!

Actually, WTOT is one of the very few songs on the album that are fast for most of the way through. The album is very good, Swervedriver-meets-My Bloody Valentine-meets-Smashing Pumpkins shoegaze rock.

To tell you the truth, "Well Thought Out Twinkles" is one of my least favorite songs on "Carnavas". "Little Lover's So Polite" (the current single, which does have vocal contributions from female bassist Monniger), "Lazy Eye" (which was a bigger hit than "Twinkles" on this chart) and "Melatonin" are much better.

Someone Who Knows A Bit About Modern Rock Radio
I'm one of those chartwatching losers who checks Mediabase every day for the alternative charts to predict what's gonna be on the Modern Rock charts (unlike the Hot 100, the Modern Rock charts are comprised solely by radioplay). There's better songs on the Top 40 this

You Broke My Superfinger!
That should be on a t-shirt. Dane Cook. sigh. What a moron.

yes. If "Silent Lucidity" is your only exposure to Queensryche, than of course you'd ask. That song is unrepresentative of their overall sound. Go find "Operation: Mindcrime" somewhere.

mind you this is for PROG ROCK. Not rock rock. Prog Rock = Yes, ELP, post-Syd Barrett Pink Floyd, King Crimson etc.

Mars Volta
The Mars Volta album cover is horrible. It was done by Storm Thorgerson who's done some of the greatest album covers of all time (every Floyd album from "Saucerful of Secrets" to "Animals", "Black Holes and Revelations" by Muse, ad nauseum), but recently he's been lagging. For instance, the cover of

aw!
i liked it, but it kinda sucks that you didn't write anything about Alice In Chains, Against Me, Agent Sparks or Alice Cooper. Only just a mention at the bottom. And no mention of The Aliens (or have you not listened to this great band formed by 2 members of the Beta Band?)

PIL on AB
Wow. PIL? When were they ever considered hitmakers enough to be on AB. Did someone at the show not now about them and think they'd be some happy pop/new wave band? That's up there with R.E.M. playing "Radio Free Europe" and Pink Floyd playing "Apples and Oranges" as one of the coolest moments of a really

I Was Just Going To Say!
Thank you for at least alluding to the fact that Regina Spektor's version of "Real Love" is pretty much the only good song on "Instant Karma". Everything else seemed tepid and uninspired (Green Day covering "Working Class Hero"? who didn't see that coming?) but Spektor at least did a great job

I've heard of the phrase. It's still awful. And Toad the Wet Sprocket came out of a Monty Python sketch on one of their records about weird band names ("Rock Notes"). Actually i rescind my claim of "Job for a Cowboy" being the worst band name. The worst band name is a band from Britian called :(
Really. They

However
This is actually the first time i've ever disagreed with anything you guys have said. Oh well, there's a first for everything

Yours Truly, Angry Mob
did you really think that we wouldn't be happy with the inclusion of "Infinity on High" over "Favourite Worst Nightmare" by Arctic Monkeys, "Wincing the Night Away" by the Shins, "Myths of the Near Future" by Klaxons or "We Are the Pipettes" by the Pipettes? or even "Yours Truly, Angry Mob" by

And Job for a Cowboy?
where did they pull this name out of? Scrabble? out of a hat? That is the worst band name i've ever heard of. Ever.

The Color Fred
I always liked Fred Mascherino, as he was the sole screamy-guitarist-in-an-emo-band that could actually play his instrument really, really well (and I hate emo as much as the next stereotypical indie rock fan). The Color Fred is just a plain bad name for a band.
