I see at least one solid rebuttal already, but I just want to ask if @avclub-b0dae075785888267fc19871f3e7dab7:disqus has watched Survivor or any other shows.  The rules change pretty frequently (admittedly the number of winners doesn't change).  But given everything else we find out in the book and what I have seen on

If only it was just Oklahoma.  The strips are about Texas, but a similar law was recently passed in Virginia and several other states are about to pass a similar one.  I understand that some consider using the word "rape" to be loaded language, but that is what this is by definition.  More than one state in this

I recall AJ saying he was out there filming them.

Hmmm….I didn't get that at all.  I just thought Jonas was trying to kill Emmet since Emmet left him to hang from a tree for eternity and he missed and hit Lincoln.  I think there is a comment from Lincoln about this too.

Alternative Carl: Where's Mom?  We have to go back for her.  (two minutes later)  I'm not leaving without Mom.

I had the same issue @avclub-22eda830d1051274a2581d6466c06e6c:disqus .  Had to redownload the Kaling podcast this morning to listen to the pre-interview portion.

I loved seeing them in top form, as I thought their last team-up wasn't great.  Mantzoukas rolled with this character in a great way (particularly his mocking of the lazy rhymes) and the Andy Daly Bang Bang retrospective was perfect.

I'm surprised that AV Club hasn't just been replaced by a banner reading "WATCH COMMUNITY"

To each their own on the review, I guess, but I did really enjoy the discussion.  Offerman had covered some of this territory on Comedy Bang Bang, but getting Mullally involved was a nice idea.  I might have liked to hear a bit more about their relationship as a couple, but what was there entertained me.

Haven't seen the movie yet (though I may not), but I want to say - LOVE the idea of Spoiler Space.  Need this for every movie.  Great idea!

In total agreement with @avclub-24df2ddc8f842b2c2047d7a6088f2845:disqus , The Great Undiscovered Project is part of the Tompkast that I fastforward.  Love everything else, but that part is not for me.

Maybe this is getting too detailed, but I find 1.5x works best for me.  I'll double up on certain things (I'm looking at you BS Report) though I usually find that to be a bit too distortiony.

Anyone listen to the Diablo Cody episode of WTF?  I'm intrigued by the idea, although wary of what Marc will bring to the table.

Each time Mike has described his alliance, he has only mentioned the other three young guys.  In Episode One, I didn't understand how they thought this was a good idea - an alliance of four in a tribe of nine.  It seemed they were relying on not being voted out earlier because they are the strongest.  It's possible

Ummm….Carrie, how is Colton's alliance of "others" not as big in numbers as the bro-lliance?  There are four bros, while the other side has Colton, Leif, Jonas, Troy, and Tarzan.  By my count that is five to four.

Just saw this on Twitter.  Hell Yeah!  #SixSeasonsandamovie

Aren't Watchmen and Sandman odd choices for examples?  My favorite issue of Watchmen is Dr. Manhattan's story, which is pretty much a standalone.  I'm only through the third collection of Sandman, but so far there have been a lot of single issue stories.  Then again, I think the Sopranos example is a bad one too since

Other alternate title: "Did HBO do more harm than good to HBO Shows?".

Exactly.  As Todd likes to mention, Sopranos and Mad Men take much more of a "collection of short stories" approach.

Yes!  As you say, this has been discussed elsewhere, but Boardwalk Empire seems to care little (or incite very little interest on the part of the viewer) about the individual episode.  I randomly talked with several friends in the fall about how many episodes behind we were (average: six) and then Chuck Klosterman
