This may be good, it may not, but for the love of god can we stop setting things in NYC for a little while

McLaren was a creepy motherfucker. He was probably lucky that no authorities found his 'personal archive' while he was alive

I might argue that hair metal was the last genre of popular music where technical precision on musical instruments (and vocals to some extent) was a crucial part of the aesthetic. I can understand valuing it for that reason.

267 lbs on a 6'2 frame is not 'slightly overweight', it's straight-up fat. I'm 6'2 and if I ever weighed that much I'd just want to watch Honk If You're Horny in peace.

Looking forward to the chapter on his feud with Kevin Owens.

It's not a competition, but I've got older-school FLA in my list this week.

Ministry, 'So What (Live)'
Swans, 'Killing For Company'
Soft Cell, Martin'
Clock DVA, 'Noises In Limbo'
Noise Unit, 'Surveillance'
Skinny Puppy, 'Amputate'
Skinny Puppy, 'Downsizer'
Front Line Assembly, 'No Tomorrow'
Red Temple Spirits, 'A Black Rain'
Mixed Feelings, 'Holding On'
Jeffrey Clark, 'Cakewalk'
Echo & the Bunnymen,

Did you take my Shakespeare class?

King John should be the 'take a nap' play. Otherwise, pretty good.

We can't forget: Boyz II Men / ABC / BBD.

Yeah I wouldn't expect enlightening perspectives on sexuality from a 1990 Bell Biv Devoe record

Early Swans. Your suburban parents probably own some of the recent ones.

SSQ, nice pull. Playback: best American synthpop record?

No they're not gonna do that; I'm just offering some unsolicited advice.

Devo's later work did take some odd turns.

Yeah, they were on fire with this episode. In particular, the vigor with which they laid into Stan Lee.

Ben Roethlisberger seemed to have skated out of rape charges not once but twice, one instance apparently involving off-duty cops keeping some girls from trying to rescue their drunk friend, who Roethlisberger was raping. Funny you don't hear a lot about that on tv.

I'll stand up for Any Given Sunday as his last great movie.

Ouch, I strongly disagree, but de gustibus etc

I hate to see Wim Wenders continuing his now 2-decade-long losing streak. (Faraway So Close is where he lost it, IMHO.) What happened?
