Glad to hear Miss (Mrs.?) Ringwald wrote something.
I remember a piece on her where she said the
last book she read was Walter Tevis's "The Queen's
Gambit" and I found it pleasing.

I'm looking at the reprint of Enemy Ace. That's some strong, strong stuff. Every damn battle feels like it's life-or-death for the reader. I think Mr. Kubert depicted aerial battles in a way that could never be captured on film.

I reluctantly agree. For some reason I only had one day to read "Strange Apparitions" and it was not what I wanted from Steve Englehart. I thought maybe the time constraint was the biggest reason I wasn't enjoying the stories.
"Laughing Fish" and the Deadshot story just weren't cool.
