Well, the best "retrospective appreciation" involving Devo is the extra on the Criterion DVD of "Island of Lost Souls" where they explain the origins of Devo in the Kent State student shootings and the feeling that people, as well as society as a whole, was sliding down the scale.  Great movie, too! 

Finally!  Saw this at Seattle International Film Festival and loved it. Quite apart from the wonderfully energetic music, this is the movie where youthful rebellion carries a real cost.  This included one of the most powerful scenes in film I've seen in the last several years, here with rough English subtitles: http://

Isn't "GreatSong, Terrible Band" just a meta version of "One HIt Wonders"?  You should be able to get 100 or so examples based on that…
