Yeah, I like it okay, but I don't see how the portrayal of Will is that different from Wallander, Luther, or the main character of "Wire in the Blood."  He's more sensitive, I suppose, but the idea of the detective empathizing with the killer in order to catch him or her is not revolutionary.

Stephen King had a lot of absent fathers, also.  Absent or evil.  I guess it helps the reader to feel worry for the main character because he or she is missing one of the primary protectors that creatures are supposed to have.

He really is an excellent Sherlock.  And Freeman makes a great constantly-perturbed, often-baffled, occasionally-awed Watson.  I can't recommend that show enough.

She should revert back to her character from "Freaks and Geeks."

Also, there's a bit of a surrogate family theme in both shows.

I agree - Winona will not die.  She might, however, have to go into Witness Protection, leaving Raylan with the choice of going with her and the child or never, ever seeing them again.
