Doesn't sound so clever when it gets thrown right back in your face now does it?

I've always appreciated that HIMYM characters properly pronounce "out" as "oat" when mocking Canadians, as opposed to the exaggerated and less accurate "oot" that most American shows seem to use.

A bit disappointed so far.  The Lucy/Mary clips were the definite highlight, but having just finished an earlier PBS miniseries that covered them better (Pioneers of Television) they didn't add much.  The story of Mary Tyler Moore's discovery was pretty much word for word.  Definitely recommend Pioneers of Television

I was too young to understand most of the topical stuff when it aired myself, but I remember her character's pregnancy being such a huge deal that Dan Quayle commented on it? Going to have to track down some old episodes now.

I imagine it seems pretty dated now, moreso than other shows of its day because of all the current events stuff.  I mean, a show like Larry Sanders holds up despite all the Clinton / OJ jokes but Murphy Brown maybe not so much.
