How about this one?  Just got back from a 7 day cruise where I completely severed my Achilles tendon on day #1.  A cast, crutches and a wheelchair to get around all week severely limited the fun, plus surgery yesterday when we got back home.  Don't freak out when you get the sniffles — it could be worse!

I really, really hope you went around the corner to the Rendezvous!  I like the ribs (no sauce while they're cooking!!!), but we now have to get the sausage and cheese plate appetizer every time we go.

Man.. that just reminded me of the first time we made Spanakopita.  That is some labor-intensive shit right there, but we were making a huge batch of it for a work lunch thing, and it was honestly the best I've ever had, Greek relatives' included.  The recipe was from a Greek church cookbook from the '80s.

Boil them (briefly!), then roll them around in a pan with garlic, even that pre-chopped jar garlic.  An entirely different food, even with the cheap dawgs.

We've almost given up on making steamed broccoli in the house because it makes the house smell like.. well, an ass.  Are we buying some type of ass-broccoli, or is that just the way it goes with broccoli?  God, it's especially bad if it's cooked alone, so no other smells are competing.

Eeeeevery once in awhile I'll peek in a CNN article's comment section mindlessly and I am reminded of this very rule of thumb.

Hi, Jerm.  Cheez-its Cripes here.  Dude from Florida.  I am currently doped up on pain meds, due to having a tendon surgically un-shredded yesterday.
Long time lurker, pre-registration, pre-Disqus, pre-Dawes, pre-purge, etc.

Maybe the Twitter approach, where instead of a letter rating, there's some impossibly short review with a word limit.  "Balls-out stupid but fun" is pretty short and to the point and would fit nicely in a list of movies where grades would be.

@avclub-7624778793b762d4744afae86485c0b8:disqus , I'm glad someone else uses the "comedy discount" approach.  I'll add 5 or 10 points to any Rotten Tomatoes score for a comedy as I am making any decision to see or not see something.  What is it about comedies that make them more subject to considering the source in

I'd like to respond to @HappilyDepressed's commentary on US football in a cogent, articulate, opinion-free matter.   ***@Cheez-its Cripes falls down and begins writhing on the ground and holding his leg.  A trainer runs over and sprays a can of 1980s Ban deodorant in the vicinity, play begins and he is miraculously

@avclub-68e8e6860586596c1e7a37aa64d3fba4:disqus , when you order "pop", we are all talking about you behind your back.  Which is also very Southern: nice to your face, savaging you when you're just out of earshot.

Fucking magnet schools.  How do they work?

FUCK YOU, DISQUS!!!  Anyone else have Disqus-related problems?

Roman Grant on "Big Love" or Daniel Day-Lewis' character in "Gangs of New York".  Two guys who did dickish things that no one could stop them from doing.

Yes, Governor Skeletor passed up billions in free train money because either 1) FL would have to pony up some money to go along with Fed money to build it , or 2) he is opposed to all things stimulus because he's a huge Tea Party knob.  Either way, no trains for us.

Extra points for the "BOOM".  Did I pick that up on this site?  Can't stop saying it.
