That's something I didn't really appreciate until rewatching it as an adult. Dan Lauria's so great in that show because he's constantly just tired and frustrated with everything going on around him (while still being a loving dad who just wants the best for his family).

Surely they're not as bad as Edmure?

Fun fact: "barbe à papa" is French for cotton candy (although the literal translation is "father's beard")

Although as someone here pointed out, they seem to carry the Simpson gene – smart, successful women, men dumb as a rock.

@avclub-21a8615938a206d4311a58a53ad8890e:disqus C'mon, she was a bespectacled stripper, not a hooker.

Exact same response as JMP.

There was actually a casual Friday last summer when she was wearing a baseball jersey-type t-shirt (y'know, white shirt with the 3/4 length sleeves a different colour?) that I couldn't even talk to her without giggling.

My high school had an unofficial tradition of incoming 9th graders being pelted with eggs and duct taped to things and whatever other nefarious schemes the older kids could come up with and the administration would look the other way (for the first week of school anyway – as soon as week 2 rolled around that shit

Smacky, you're the fuckin' greatest.

It's a great movie to age with… It came out when I was in high school and it made my friends and I nostalgic for a time we hadn't even lived through, what with the easy access to beer and weed and girls in tight shorts (booo to the baggy clothes of  the early '90s).

Ha! We had an intern here last summer who looked just like Mitch Cramer! Is your coworker's name Jen?

I like that you spelled "spelling bee" incorrectly.

I hated these guys in high school because I was a bit of a douche about
major labels and bands who were played on MTV and stuff, but these days I
can't deny that those are some kickass riffs.

This thread is the whole reason I read the article. You fine folks didn't disappoint me.

@avclub-33beffd09a1b020d1187c6b4b264014a:disqus I've heard of FrameMaker but I can't say I'm really familiar with it… it's more of a technical document thing, right? I work in graphic design so even with instruction manuals I'm more concerned about fonts and pretty pictures (and colours! Oh, the colours!) than

@avclub-33beffd09a1b020d1187c6b4b264014a:disqus InDesign all the way. The day I discovered a plugin that would convert Quark files to InDesign was the last day I used Quark.

Hey man, if you do find Josh, tell him he still owes me $15.

@avclub-33beffd09a1b020d1187c6b4b264014a:disqus So, Hawkwind gave us Lemmy and some of the shittiest software ever produced? I guess it's a wash.

Hey, I read it… and that's a terrible situation.

I'm not usually one for doomsaying OR complaining about the quality of free entertainment but I've got to agree… there have been very few articles I've actually been interested in reading for anything other than comments in the past couple of weeks.
