I just clicked on your avatar for the first time a few weeks ago and realized it was a badger and not some horrifying Francis Bacon face.

Here's one for you:

It'll take me a couple of days to complete the metamorphosis, but with a little willpower I think I can reschedule my activities pretty successfully. I'll let you guys know how it works out.

@avclub-8dd007f4a97be79c135c67999bf5b27e:disqus Ha! I'm in kind of the opposite position – having closely followed new releases for 20 years I've kind of lost track of new music over the last couple so I'm frequently pleasantly surprised when there's something new.

I've been using Otto E. Roddick (autoerotic) any time I needed to provide a name for something (and could get away with using a fake name) for years. it seemed a lot more clever at the time.

I took a dump before I left the house this morning (I'm usually an after work kind of guy) and I've been feeling like a million god damn bucks all day. I may have to alter my entire pooping schedule.

Unless you're in grizzly bear country.

Then wait another five years and see how many of those marriages have already ended and feel like a fucking chump for wasting all those weekends going to fucking weddings when you were young and awesome.

The goal thing works for us too… we need to invite someone we want to impress over (our usual deadbeat friends won't work – they've seen our house in shithole mode too many times).

Awesome, didn't even know there was a new Lanegan coming out.

Fuckin' Pavement.

Constantines - Insectivora
De La Soul – Potholes in my Lawn
Zoroaster – DNR
Screaming Trees – Make My MInd
Superchunk – Animated Airplanes Over Germany

Are you givin' me the high hat?

Yeah, I always do at least one sweep of the comments on Thursday morning to see if I missed anything interesting after I left work.

Ha! I was always too clueless to be embarrassed.

I don't know what it says about me, but I read your hypothetical situation there and immediately thought "I bet his brother was a real asshole!". Maybe if it was a complete stranger I'd think it was worse, but to me sibling beatings seem at least somewhat justified (and kind of funny).

I also really appreciated the honesty in this obit… it was respectful and even-handed without glossing over some of Manzarek's questionable decisions.

"that sort of zero tolerance thinking is without exception something to avoid."

Go is awesome and Polley's great in it, especially her scenes with William Fichtner.

Possibly my two favourite bands of all time… the 90s were a veritable cornucopia of "super" bands
