I too would recommend his stories first
and his novels second. Except THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES, which is kind of both and should be at the top of any list.

So the noir Spider-Man
would have to have been the first one, right? This sounds cool.
This needs some serious punctuation work.
It's pretty much unreadable. Semicolons needed. Sorry.
Yes.
Marc Webb. Huh. Looks like he's directed music videos for every suck-ass band ever…and (500) DAYS OF SUMMER. That was okay, I guess, despite some pretty terrible moments and an unsympathetic lead. Hmm.
This is really endearing.
I had no optimism for this project—and maybe I still don't; who's directing?—but this interview kind of makes me think it might be cool.
Twas ever thus.
Well, now I have to go buy a lot of books! Thank you, for real.
What Arsenio said. Except that part about preferring animals to humans. Animals meow too much. ESPECIALLY CAT ANIMALS.
3-note range? He can sing falsetto.
Yeah, in Japan, every group of three people has been stitched into a human centipede, mouth to anus. It's funny how Americans still think this is novel.
That song is bizarre! Wow. I wonder if the Mu Mu Land of which they speak is the whole Mu/Lemuria/Atlantis New Age bullshit, or something else. Unreal. And very entertaining.
I am getting anxious
waiting for this discussion.
So this gets a New Cult Canon entry…
…while JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS gets a My Year of Flops piece?
True story: a lawyer in Boston once gave me his business card, and his name and information was written really small on it along the bottom, while on the rest of the card was a big silhouette of a marching band and drum major and the large-font all-cap words "I LOVE SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND!"
My brother watched ERASERHEAD a few hundred times, and I don't think that was a positive experience for him, ultimately. And another friend watched A CLOCKWORK ORANGE so many times he started to make all of us uncomfortable.
I mean they suck ass, I'm not calling you an ass. I just meant that Fuel sucks ass.
I just realized I really like all of you guys.
I do love that Morrissey album. That should have gotten a mention. But M. really only had one slump album, and that was MALADJUSTED. VAUXHALL and SOUTHPAW GRAMMAR are brilliant.
Nathan Rabin cracks me up.
This was hilarious. Especially the Fuel review. Well said.
