I just remember those days of yore when Sandman was a thing and everyone was sure Delirium was based on Tori and none of us liked Collective Soul.

I'm in my forties and trust me: nothing works anymore. I finally just quit drinking altogether three years ago. I miss it, but I don't miss the blinding headaches and nausea.

I don't get the binge culture for media. I like to take my time with things because it's not like there's so much out there that's awesome. And also, don't you get just sick of it after the third or fourth hour? Or are people getting medals and paycheques for finishing House of Cards in a day that I don't know about?

This week I've been playing a handful of games. Out of a sheer burst of masochism I downloaded Yu-Gi-Oh Decade Duels Plus on Xbox Arcade. I know nothing about the game, but thought what the hell. I'm still thinking 'What the hell?'. The learning curve is a wall, the animations are cheap, the AI steamrolls you. But I

Very well done. Link seemed a little stiff on the horse, but then not everyone is Canadian like me and raised to be a Dunedain Ranger.

Ha! Well, maybe then I'll keep going. Nynaeve was my Wheel-fu, if that can be a thing.

Okay, fair enough. I only made it to the fourth, and it was pretty G-rated up until then. Now I'm wondering if I should continue reading. Does it get more interesting?

I made it to the fourth book, waiting for it to pick up…and it never did for me. I just found the characters to be pretty cardboard, the plot stretched out, and the writing often lazy.

Well, Monster Hunter 4 arrived this afternoon. I'm still looking at it. Haven't even taken the plastic off. It's like looking at a deep pit before crossing yourself and jumping in.

I'd start with 4. There are very exhaustive summations of the previous games included in the disc, but you really don't need to know that to enjoy Yakuza 4.

I…I have never considered honey in coffee.
The day seems new to me now.

Unlike Dark Souls, Monster Hunter has a sense of humour. It's probably my favourite part about it. When you die, for example, your body is carried back on a cart pulled by cats, bitching all the way, who just unceremoniously dump you onto the ground.

I'm playing Deus Ex now, trying for the non-lethal approach, but you're right: the game really doesn't want you to do that. I can currently do one Nice Guy takedown before my energy is drained, and then you have to shoot the next guy or you die. And there's always a next guy huffing up behind the one you just downed.

Gillian Anderson as Night Nurse. I'd watch that.

Canadian Netflix streams Under The Skin.

Just as long as there's product placement so I know what to buy when I leave the theatre. Do you think they'll keep that in?

Listened to the Spark podcast from CBC Radio and an episode of VidjaGame Apocalypse. Last night I played Sentinels of the Multiverse for the first time. It's a card based superhero game. Incredibly easy to learn, and a lot of fun. Also played a bit of Star Ocean Second Story on the PSP. Comfort gaming.

I have OCD and just went back to check to see if you were right.

I thought she transported out with whatever Time Lord magic Moffat needed at the time.

Disappointed in the episode. No time was given to show Clara's grief, the show rushing to get us to the Nethersphere, where it just dawdled. And I didn't buy Clara's threatening the Doctor, since she could have just used the telepathic controls herself without him. Have the Doctor say that Danny's dead, that he isn't
