Maron's more of a shaggy hangout show from what I've seen than the weird, surreal thing CK is doing.

Chris Lowell is really terrific, too. That scene in the finale where he puts on the glitter eye makeup, which initially made me laugh, before it grew into this strangely sweet, almost tender moment, was really beautifully played. He was great in Enlisted, too.

I'm not sure if I'd say that, as Out of Sight is generally very highly regarded, where Jackie Brown tends to be viewed as an outlier on Tarantino's resume. But it's an absolutely terrific film, with style and wit to spare, and its stars haven't been better before or since.

Guy Pearce is Australian. I thought Crowe was too, actually, but according to wikipedia he's a New Zealand citizen despite spending most of his life in Australia.

Conspiracy Theory is awesome. Great score, great Patrick Stewart villain performance, and Julia Roberts and Mel Gibson are actually a lot of fun to watch together. I'm a fan of that movie.

Chasing Amy would be my number one pick, for sure. I like your list in general. Donnie Brasco, Gattaca, and The Fifth Element are all great pics, as well.

That prison escape is one of my all-time favorite action scenes. I'm a sucker for "enemies team up" moments, and it's such a great employment of that trope. I remember showing the scene in isolation to my brother on the VHS, to which he reacted with a shrug, which had the effect of tempering my expectations of him

I think Troopers just comes off as a campy sci fi film to people who weren't expecting satire or fully engaging with the film. It's a bizarre movie, so I can understand there being a variety of responses to it.

Oddly enough, Kill Bill 2 feels like the closest Tarantino has come since Jackie Brown to making a genuinely character-driven film. The first is more an homage to a thousand kung fu movies than anything else, but the sequel really deepens and explores the relationship between Beatrix and Bill. It's my second

Titanic is a much better film than Hunting. Hunting is solid, but also overly-earnest in a young-screenwriter sort of way, and more of a fairy tale than it's willing to acknowledge. Titanic is literally an historic achievement in film.

Too slavish an adaption? Tarantino throws whole sections of the book out the window and utterly transforms many of the characters. It's an improvement in every way on the novel, which was enjoyable but kind of throwaway, all things considered. I could see the film not being up your alley, but hewing too closely to

You should check out White Sea if you don't know her. She used to collaborate with M83, something she's got in common with Susanne Sundfor. She writes these big, catchy electronic pop songs, but they're almost more theatrical than stadium-style, if that makes sense (closer to Susanne Sundfor than Chvrches, in other
