I think the second series is far better than you describe here. The writing's at it's peak, neither getting to grips with the concept/characters like the first, or going too sci-fi with the increased effects budgets of later seasons - each episode is very tight, and very funny. And the title sequence/music is better

I love it too. Always some good fun knockabout stuff, and a nice bit of education. The Hubbard/Crowley thing was fascinating.

Think folk mostly hate that Max Rushden episodes of Football Weekly tend to degenerate into Soccer AM-style nonsense. Especially if Glendenning's on.

The only time the English care about any "Irish roots" is when they
think they need an excuse for downing a Guinness on St Patrick's Day.

Sounds like a plan. Seems to me that by clearing the crap out of the party, Malcolm's no longer of any user to Miller.

You can go a bit too far with trying to find analogues in reality for all the characters in the show. Fergus is any of those opportunistic Lib Dems, who are all rather too pleased with their role in Government. Clegg, obviously, Danny Alexander, David Laws…any of their junior ministers…

"Your lips like bruised vulva…" - a proper 'WTF?' moment on listening to that record. Half the album is very good, and the other half seems to come straight from Andy Cairns' Bumper Book of Sexual Fantasies.

Therapy? were the tits, until they disappeared up their own arses, which appeared to have been halfway through recording Infernal Love. Seriously, fellas, electric cellos?

It's probably better than the reality, which that A were the closest Britain came to nu-metal…Horrible, horrible stuff.
