More philosophical stuff for you to sink your teeth into: does the truth give you power? Is being truthful an effective way of wielding power? The Lannister's enemies obviously think the truth about Joffrey gives them an advantage. Stannis insists he be truthful when writing his claim to the throne. Tyrion's

It's long term storytelling, fairly common among HBO shows but taken to an extreme here. Each episode stops at a basically arbitrary point. It's foolish to expect a series that emulates novelistic narrative to have momentous events happen every episode. You wouldn't expect anything to be "resolved" in the first

IT'S SPELLED MIDICHLORIANS GOSH.

His twitter ruined him for me. I try to not judge celebrities on how awful their twitters are, but I always do.

wtf are you doing Erik Adams? You need to just stand there and look pretty.

I get the feeling that Rihanna's antics lately have been an attempt to distance herself from her label and get more creative control. Which can only be a good thing, since Rated R is 10000000000000x better than anything else she's ever done.

It's because pop stars these days come from behind the scenes. You can see the trend in the chart success of DJs, in the way producers like David Guetta and Calvin Harris now receive top billing on their songs. The people who actually produce the music are the stars now. Lady Gaga, Kesha and Katy Perry are all

The ending with Mako and Korra staring off into the distance was hilarious. Mostly because Mako was obviously thinking about Korra, and Korra was obviously thinking about pro-bending.

I kind of like the way bending is used as a metaphor for race, because it allows the protagonists to not be defined by their race. The fact that Korra is a WOC but it isn't commented on or is a big part of her story is refreshing.

Those moments were great. Someone called Korra "Fresh off the boat" as well. I really like the way their dealing with a multicultural society, since one of  my problems with the world building in AtLA was how hermetically sealed each culture was from each other.

Aang's grandson (Meelo?) is adorable. BE THE LEAF.

I was referring to when Joan brought the baby into the office, but in retrospect that was a very awkward comment.

Confessions has that one New York song though. That has to be top five stupidest Madonna songs.

She talks about it at 37:00 and 44:00 of this excellent podcast:

At the end of the day she is a shock queen, and a big part of her M.O. is making people feel uncomfortable.

I think Savage fucked the queens over by giving them serious critiques in the workroom. Dida, Sharon and Latrice all toned it down and it made the challenge boring. Taking a Drag Race challenge seriously is about as dumb as taking Dan Savage seriously.

"As a straight white woman I have nothing to bitch about…"
Girrrrrlllllll don't speak too soon! If nothing else this election cycle has proven that we are one bad decision away from The motherfucking Handmaid's Tale. Homophobia and sexism will always be linked, and the sexism displayed in this campaign has scared the

Pretty much. I feel like the past seasons of the show confirm this. But I will be pleasantly surprised if they let Sharon win.

Kala and Arular will always be awesome.

She made Ray of Light when she was 40 had just had children, AKA the brief moment between the worst of her attention whoring and her mid-life crisis. It also helps that she was imitating Bjork on that album, who is probably the best artist Madonna ever appropriated from.

I love Madonna too, which makes it hard to see her phoning it in in her 50's. She's kind of in a predicament because she's mainly a touring artist now, so she keeps churning out dance music when it's obvious she should be singing ballads.
