C'mon, "Emotions are for ugly people" is an awesome line. He's willing to go there and make it uncomfortable, a great drag quality which is somewhat wasted on a reality show where you have to show "vulnerability".
God I love Willam. Bitch simultaneously plays the game while giving it the finger, like all great reality show contestants.
"Basically anything that has to do with sexual orientation must be tolerated to be politically correct."
The fuck does that even mean? Can we please get a moratorium on the phrase "politically correct"? I can't remember the last time someone used it in its proper context.
The writing's just not there on this one, is it? The show suffers from The Walking Dead's problem of expecting us to care about these characters instead of doing the work to develop them. STILL: I thought the rehearsal scenes at the start were really engaging, and a kind-sorta realistic look at the making of a…
That pretty much sums up the entire show.
She's articulate and hardworking, which automatically makes her better than 90% of the other contestants.
I was with Lisa until her "I'm one of the top three women comedians!" shtick. I get that she was emotional, but I can't stand comics with a lack of self-awareness and delusions of grandeur.
This was a pretty good episode. All the pieces for a tense hour of tv were there. My main problem at the moment is the total lack of charisma or fun between the group. I don't understand how the writers are unable to write a single likeable character.
That is a horrible picture of her.
Shut the fuck up.
HATED THEM.
I seriously can't stand the straw feminist trope. And I thought this show was better then that.
Also, it's telling that your defense of the movie was "hey, it's pretty mediocre!" . People often get more annoyed by mediocrity than outright terribleness (see: The Reader).
"If this isn't Sandra Bullock's best work, it's easily up there"
……lol.
Only Voyager!
@avclub-132d6c1408f2492456848667346b54b6:disqus O I C, well we'll just have to agree to disagree.
K.Thrace, I grew up a gay little Mexican kid in a conservative christian town, and I know exactly what you're describing. The feelings of helplessness, of oppression, of thinking nothing in the world was worth another day of this bullshit. And the message I got from the few people who tried to help was always the…
@avclub-132d6c1408f2492456848667346b54b6:disqus I don't get why you're comparing her to Raja. For one thing Sharon is much more about playing characters than Raja, ie. she actually changes her voice, she's about performance, she isn't stiff as fuck like Raja was. Raja was gorgeous and stylish, but Sharon is about…
To be honest Gaga is basically a female drag queen. So I think the least creative queens gravitate towards doing her because it's easy. Make up some Poker Face puns and you're good to go.
But he doesn't have just one wrongheaded opinion. He has like, 20. It's Bill Maher syndrome- at a certain point all the bullshit cancels out any good he does.
