Yes.
Nah. They're great children's books, good for learning about idioms and growing your vocabulary, but the writing will get awfully repetitive if you're an adult. A lot of the appeal comes from how ironic, witty, and non-condescending the tone is. Which is very exciting if you're ten years old, have a dry sense of…
@nahska:disqus I always thought NBC was dumb for not doing this. Their comedies work better later into the night.
Usually it doesn't matter if a television writer is gay, because their sexual preference has nothing to do with how they write. Except that perhaps they can write more realistic gay characters than straight men (See:Russell T. Davies, Alan Ball).
I remember Tina Fey saying that lots of people who work on 30 Rock are gay and Morgan had never caused any problems with them. I think the joke was over the line and he had to apologize for it but I'm not going to stop watching the show over it.
Yeah, I had kinda forgotten about it completely.
Edith's storyline and the Thomas storyline you mentioned were my big problems. They both felt like they should have been stretched out across multiple episodes. The way they flew by robbed them of real impact. Part of me wishes DA followed a US style 12/13 episode season, or a 30 minute A/B/C-plot soap format. The…
The cuts to the PBS versions are actually very miniscule. They simply air more than one episode at once. I watched the second series when it aired, and the two episodes that aired on PBS last night were exactly the same. The things that were cut were musical cues, scenery shots etc. As for the pacing, that's just a…
Yeah, this was the first Classic Who serial I watched, and it's a very smooth transition.
It's back!?
Holy shit, this is at 10,000 already!?
I like JGL's acting but yeah, that opening was rubbishy rubbish.
@avclub-eaa88660d97aa2a15400335bcf9d93ac:disqus Just curious, what is your opinion of the game now?
I hated it at the beginning, started to like it 5 hours in then 20 hours later I hated it again. Looking back on it I'm kind of pissed I wasted so much time on a game with only 10 real hours of gameplay. I think the rest…
In general I agree, but don't you think Moffat's episodes are about time travel? They're filled with paradoxes and "I'm you from the future" scenarios.
I didn't enjoy next weeks episode, but I thought the time travel in the series finale was very, very well done. If you don't think about it too much.
What annoys me is that once you beat the game once you can play through it again and skip all the intro stuff. Why couldn't they include that from the beginning? Does Nintendo hate its fans?
Yep.
Miners' strike got you down? You can do it Margaret! Get back out there and crush those unions gurl!
I'm enjoying all these award bait films getting mediocre receptions lately.
