I really liked "Deathwaker".  Best episode thus far in my opinion.

The X-mas episode showcases some of the worst aspects of the show in the early years.

Holy fucking shit yes on the "Meta" thing.  I've gotten to the point where I actively try to AVOID media that has "meta-awareness". It seems like every fucking moron thinks if he or she throws in a meta reference that validates their genius in such a profound way that it excuses crappy storytelling. It's reached

Personally, I never understood the concept of being "proud" of where one was born.  It's not as if one has a choice in the matter.  For me "pride" is something to be reserved for things you actually accomplish, not where you happened to pop out. I'm grateful to have been born where I was, but if someone is hung up on

It's lazy in a purely lexicographical sense.  There are legitimate reasons to actually use an apostrophe in the middle of a foreign derived word. It can be used to indicate a pause or stop in a place where the "natural feel" of language of your base text wouldn't indicate one (i.e. between an leading consonant and a

This.  Take it from someone in the field.  Like so much about what we have for social structures in the US, the legal system is often not very good. At all. It's just that it's also better than the alternatives people with come up with thus far.

Personally, I'm quite surprised at how much I like Keiko in DS9.  On TNG she wavered between just being kind of "there" to being a mild irritant to me.  But I like her a lot more here.  She's trying her best to have a fully realized and satisfying life in a situation she doesn't really care for. Life on the station

"Tribunal": I had fun with this one.  Being an attorney myself I found the whole thing kind of hilarious in a very particular and peculiar way.  It's a pretty grim yet funny poke at what it looks like when a legal system turns into a prosecution factory line for the state.   The only thing I didn't really like here is

I dunno. I enjoyed it immensely, but I was reading it as it came out which was at a rate of about one a week. Not sure how the experience would be taking it in larger chunks.
