I dunno. I enjoyed it immensely, but I was reading it as it came out which was at a rate of about one a week. Not sure how the experience would be taking it in larger chunks.

Some episodes are.  Especially for television of it's time.  The fact that so much time has passed, and that pretty much everything that was innovative or thought provoking about it has been done derivatively literally hundreds of times since, kind of lessens the impact nowadays.

It was pretty good, with some great parts and some awkward moments.  It's sad that most of the criticism here boils down to "It had a message that I don't like therefore it is smug and I hate it"

Correct.

Correct.

The possibility that Salmon would have eventually ended up being a Hitchhiker's/Dirk Gently crossover is so tantalizing.  So sad he died relatively young.

Eh… I kinda like Kroll.  Itn's not great, but I don't think it's terrible either.  Maybe I should back off on saying the Key individual stories were all above average, but to me Armageddon Factor is the only real stinker. Not just because it's a poor resolution, but as you said, it's just kind of a mess.

I'm continuing my campaign for "Inferno" especially since it was one of Caroline John's more intriguing performances.
