I'm continuing my campaign for "Inferno" especially since it was one of Caroline John's more intriguing performances.

Agreed.  I have mixed feelings about this season.  The episodes themselves are all above average, with this one firmly in the "very good to great" range. But the overall Key to Time story arc just isn't very good. Bahn hit the nail on the head. The whole thing never really comes together. It's thematically muddled and

So, since the AV club is reviewing this show, and since I am currently following along with the DS9 reviews, and since I never saw this show the first time around I thought I'd give it a shot as well. I might as well catch up on both space station based space operas, eh? It's a mixed bag so far IMO.

I can understand how "A Princess of Mars" might not be a great title for the first movie in a series.  But why didn't they just call it "Warlord of Mars"?  Who cares if that's the third book?  That's a title that would have gotten people's attention.

Same here. I come at this from the perspective of someone who has seen the show one time through, liked it fine enough, but isn't a huge fan.  I thought Inara was a very good character.  I think when you have an online fandom, a prevailing opinion kind of sets in and becomes ingrained amongst the hardcore fans.

Actually, the unrealistic thing is that Mal would have lasted more than 5 seconds against an experienced swordsman with only a few hours training.  Yeah, I know Atherton was toying with him but still…

Pretty much any time there is a fictional game in a genre show, fandom will come up with actual rules trying to make a playable game out of it and post it online.  Three dimensional chess from Star Trek,  Sabbac from Star Wars.  There's even rules for Fizbin online despite the fact that the whole point of that scene
