Actually, "Atonement" is a fine, fine film. It's not the usual type of prestige-y Oscar bait that comes around this time of year, it only looks like it. In fact, there's quite a few critics (and viewers like me) who would put "Atonement" above "No Country For Old Men" this year.

A Brothers Coen marathon
If I may suggest a great order for a 24 hour Brothers Coen marathon:

Marge Gunderson is one of the greatest characters in films. Sure, she's an ironic twist on the gumshoe mold, but she's one the most decent and human people I've ever seen put onto celluloid.

Inspiration
This is inspired, so much so it inspired me to go through all the Coen Brothers films.
