Shane was interesting while he was still mysterious, but ended up as a boring dead end. Better than April, who was a boring dead end from the second she was introduced.

New Professor Evil looks young enough to still get carded in bars. If he has tenure at that college, he must have started med school at 13.
I thought it was awful because she's a monster who killed him for realsies, plus trying to kill his sister etc over and over again.
I'll accept that Stefan at least thinks he needs to breath, whatever. What I don't get is how the air keeps getting in his mouth over and over again to make all those bubbles come out over and over again.
Damn New York sportsball meant the show was pre-empted last night — had to wait for Hulu this morning.
@disqus_u7vdwwhJsZ:disqus Normally I would completely agree with you — but the vast majority of the *straight* characters on this show are psychos who have tried to kill family members.
The Stefan/Silas mystery got resolved real quick. Gives me hope that they'll resolve the roommate situation fast too.
I would love them to bring Kol back — or at least include him in a bunch of flashbacks. He could be TO's Lexie — dead from (almost) the beginning, but on the show at least a couple times a season in flashback or ghost form.
Don't tell the writers — I can't handle more tissue paper hybrid plots.
Klaus is getting the snot-nosed kid. Elena and Caroline are getting the detective agency.
So Jeremy basically has a ghost girlfriend problem at this point — needs to start going to meetings or something, maybe learn to stand up for himself against all these dead chicks.
@avclub-06b6610df0c2a2d4be303f2d81e9e5d3:disqus See, to me, that's not all that dark, but I get that most people don't want their main characters to be murders. As far as I'm concerned, this is a vampire show, and I like my vampires mean.
Ok, true. Bonnie's mom is technically as alive as most of the main characters. And Matt's mom exists in the world somewhere. I think Bonnie's mom is more likely to show up than Matt's.
Ok, yeah. And Damon was relatively tolerable back then — mostly cause he was in lovelorn mode rather than happy mode. I'll give it some time.
I was not even fazed by this when I saw it — made perfect sense at the time. Which just shows how much this show has gotten me to accept about crazy.
Didn't they show Damon shaving at the beginning of this episode or maybe cleaning his face off after shaving? I thought it was funny at the time, I don't think it's really come up before.

Ayup, definitely. It's either a drink-all-her-blood or sacrifice-in-a-dark-magic-ritual situation — take your pick.
ONE parent left between all of 'em — but they'd better not touch Caroline's mom.
And Damon's crazy sirebonded ex, who's been wandering around the city counting bricks. I'm just doing my best to forget that episode happened — for this and all the sirebond reasons too.
