This is only tangentially related, yet I feel I must share it.

Toph/Sokka would be weird considering Lin and Tenzin dated. For some bizarre reason (and I say bizarre because dating your cousin is sanctioned by about half the country) that gives people the creeps.

There's an enormous difference between "some things that telepaths might do are illegal, the same way its illegal for me to wiretap random peoples phones" and "we are going to force all of our telepaths to join a fascist organization that will separate them from their families, force them to wear the future equivalent

The Lost Adventures are, indeed, awesome. There are some clunkers in there (it came out in Nick Mag, after all) but also some really, really good stuff. I also like it because it confirms that the Fire Nation has a rail system, which means that they are, in fact, fully industrialized.

I should perhaps clarify that when I said "where are Katara and Zuko" I didn't mean it in the 'where are their physical bodies' sense but in the 'why aren't the grand old masters of the setting fixing shit, Gaang style?' sense.

He could just be power-hungry, of course, but if he's just power-hungry and has no ideological agenda to back that up we're back to him being somewhat tone-deaf with regard to non-benders.
