Becoming an Air Acolyte, even if you can't bend, is likely something widely sought-after.

That's very true, Arex. Grooming someone for eventual leadership IS a tough road. And you're right that they shouldn't have done stuff like, say, giving Korra her own warship and letting her make command decisions.
To be fair, Kyoshi was both the Avatar, and she set a record. Although Bumi proves you don't have to be the Avatar to get to be that old and still kicking.
We actually don't have solid numbers on that. What we know for sure is 1) that the original ATLA was very well-rated by Nick standards (it was no Spongebob, but it did pretty good) and 2) that Nick's executives were deeply concerned about the split demographic impacting advertising revenue because of the internal…
You're assuming that these guys are obeying the SPIRIT of Aang's instruction, as opposed to the letter of them.
The animation didn't so much change as that they have a bigger budget now.
Er… what's that got to do with anything?
Not even really a permutation. It explicitly IS earthbending. Metalbending isn't a separate king of bending any more than being able to generate lightning is separate from firebending or bloodbending is separate from waterbending.
Of course, the problem with killing someone in the Avatar State is that they're in the frickin' Avatar State and are basically an angry demigod.
The AV club continues its proud tradition of reviews that make me want to go see movies that I can't possibly go see without driving for five hours!
It's rare to see Delenn offering such a strong defense of the show, and I agree with her on this. In fact, I'll go one step farther.
Not Klingon enough, Delenn. They've sworn to kill the albino personally and, if feasible, pull his still-beating heart out of his chest and hold it in front of his face so he can see how black it is before he dies. Ground bursts make that hard.
To be fair, a lot of that is directed outward. The Ferengi are cultural chauvinists; they believe that non-Ferengi are lesser beings and not worthy of being treated with respect.
Well, to be fair, Cattivo, B5 has some fan-fucking-tastic writing at times. (And to be clear, when I say writing I mean dialogue. It's plotting is also pretty good but I'm not talking about that now.)
I disagree with you, instant pancakes, but I respect you for your willingness to assert that Ezri was a good character and a good Dax. I've always liked her and she gets a LOT of hate.
fanfiction.net is thataway and it could use more stories that aren't written by people who desperately wanted Dukat to not be evil, or at least, not so evil he couldn't nail Kira.
You know, I started re-watching B5 recently, and good lord, it hasn't held up well.
Ah, you're right. I'd forgotten about Empok Nor.
O'briens spacism will, sadly, basically disappear after this season.
Hell, not just Nog. By the end of the series Cirroc Lofton looks like he could break Avery Brooks in two. Dude is ENORMOUS and well-built.
