I totally agree with the idea that the Leonard-Penny 'relationship restarted just to give something to the characters to do because they could not think of anything else.' I don't believe in their rekindled romance for a second - but, much worse, it isn't funny and saps the show of a lot of its lightness and bounce.

No one has mentioned that the episode's Leonard-Penny plot is an EXACT repeat of the Season 3 episode in which Leonard tells Penny he loves her and she does not respond. I really enjoy this show. (Yes, I said it!) It's a guilty pleasure. But an 'A' for this episode? What the hell? Both the A and B plots were stupid and boring. (Actually, it felt more like two B plots, more than anything - and the episode had no anchor, no focus, hardly any jokes, and was barely worth watching.) I

This was the New Girl episode I enjoyed the most - all the previously disparate components came together, great supporting roles and guest stars, and a high laugh quotient. Also, and not coincidentally, great review by Erik Adams, perceptive, thorough and appropriately witty.
