I don't think its that Fringe's first eps weren't very good. They were a little slow but always interesting. They just didn't give indication on just how great the mythology of the show was going to be.

For me its Fringe, Parenthood and TGW as the only network shows I watch.   Frustrating for me is that its all shows which struggle in the ratings.

Not too surprisingly for those of us who watched RR's canceled too soon show Men of a Certain Age. Great show that was.

Ray Romano is a great addition.  He was terrific.  Though it made me miss his show Men of a Certain Age even more. 
Really looking forward to seeing more of him and Lauren Graham. This should be interesting.

I don't think Fringe was ever terrible. Yes it started slow. Yes it started as a sort of Xfiles knock off but the show was never terrible.  Sure the first half of the 1st season wasn't as amazing as the later seasons were but some of those early eps were very very good.
