Usually on my nights off I throw on an episode of MST3K as I go to bed - a comfort viewing practice of mine spanning many years - but last night after hearing about this Netflix addition I put on Bob Ross. Within minutes his dulcet tones and the sounds of his brushes hitting the canvas happily swept me away to

The Virginia entry should've also stated that while in Richmond you should also go to GWARbar. I'm not big on the band's music, but their restaurant serves the best chicken and waffles sandwich I've ever had. (And I've had my share.)

Seriously. Last I heard they were going to restore that functionality by the holidays. Then… nothing. While I've gotten used to the site's redesign (I'm still not loving it, though), stripping away that feature was a bad move. It was very useful.

That really is the perfect description of it. What a let down.

Got my ticket for that show a couple of weeks ago. It's like they're playing at the nexus of the universe.

First, divorcing Zooey. Now, passing up a golden opportunity to put out a new album that'd rake in the dough. Man, I thought my life choices were bad.

I will second Money Shot. It was the first HCC book I read - found it at Dollar Tree one day years ago - and I was instantly hooked.

Good to see you tackle a Hard Case Crime book. I know there have been a few other HCC reviews here, but it'd be great if they all could get a look. (Though the content of the reviews wouldn't sway me one bit; I'll buy every HCC book, if only just to get their sweet covers.)

For those jonesin' for some Cranston, he was on Adam Carolla's podcast on Wednesday. I believe he dropped the July return news on there, too. (You could've posted this news sooner if you still covered it in Podmass, AV Club.) Good interview. He told a nice anecdote about lying to John Ritter.

How about HCC for a Gateways to Geekery piece?

I could listen to Dana Gould's Paul Stanley impression all day.

Poop stories
Between Jon Benjamin on Girl on Guy* and Judah Friedlander on Nerdist, in the span of one week I heard two stories about comedy guys shitting their pants and their cars. I like this trend.

Agreed. I could listen to the Rifftrax guys talk about their craft (and MST3K history) all day. Here's hoping they come back on for a Nerdist devoted completely to them sometime.

Matthew's cats
I'm so glad I decided to follow along with these recaps for this season. (I've been reading - and loving - them from the beginning, though.) For years I've been wracking my brain trying to remember the full names of Matthew's cats, but didn't know which episode he mentioned them. Google searches were
