Did The Artist win best picture? God that movie was terrible. People were just too hypnotized by the B&W silent gimmicks to notice how bad the story, characters, and plot were.

Why don't these people have a rendezvous point for when everything inevitably goes to shit? Seriously.

I don't think Walt's protectiveness of Jesse is sudden at all. My theory is (and has been for a long time) that Walt views Jesse as family. And if Walt has a code it's "we don't murder family." This is supported by Walt's outrage at Saul's suggestion to send Hank to Belize.

@avclub-6d0cbc987f0ee695ca4e8d07ecde8d7a:disqus I said elsewhere that I think that Walter does view Jesse as family. As such, he won't kill him. Walt is depraved and he does have a code that involves not killing family.
BUT that does put Jesse right in the center of Walter's manipulation sphere. Just think of all the

a sexual relationship with an adult.

Yeah….. I kind of feel squeamish about that. Can a 16-year-old really consent?

Walt has shown over and over again that he will manipulate his family members to force them to do what he wants. Most of the time that is NOT the thing that is best for them. I can think of countless examples, but just one recent example would be using his cancer recurrence to keep Junior away from Marie, even though

@avclub-6d0cbc987f0ee695ca4e8d07ecde8d7a:disqus Yeah, they've both saved each others' lives a bunch of times. If Jesse owes Walt his life, then Walt owes his to Jesse and I don't see Walt displaying much loyalty to him.

Man, I just wanna hang out with him in a tree house. And not in a pervy way.

@avclub-4ffb0d2ba92f664c2281970110a2e071:disqus I can see that. I realize it is wishful thinking on my part for Hank and Jesse to work together to take Walt down. You are probably right, but it makes me sad. Basically I want the show to end with Jesse finding redemption and Hank finding justice (and Walt finding a

at this point [i.e. after that explosive ending], I don't agree that Jesse hates Hank more than Walt. And I am not sure who would go to jail that Jesse would care about. Saul? Huell? Todd? Doesn't he hate all those people too, for being complicit or outright responsible for the poisoning/murder of children?

I think that's reductive. You're basically saying that Jesse should remain loyal to Walter and not help the good guys take him down out of a simplistic code in which to be a "rat" is basically the lowest thing you could be. I don't think Jesse owes Walt anything but he sure deserves redemption for himself.

Does it bother anyone else when these reviews get the names of characters completely wrong? Who is Cassie?

This seems more Vampire Romy and Michelle than Vampire Clueless.

Well, I think they've also touched on other reasons why Nick is a sad-sack (dropping out of school and being dissatisfied with his career). The more I watch this show, the more I like Nick. He could be annoyed with Jess given their mismatched personalities, but he is often just protective of her in his own pessimistic

From the title of this article, I was hoping this movie would be about guys who are stand-up comics. That would be awesome!

This description and the premise make the movie seem promising, but the previews frame the movie as a silly comedy that doesn't look particularly interesting or good. Here's hoping for a good movie that just happens to have a bad marketing team attempting to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

Alicia seemed a bit out of character. She kept just saying things she was thinking and feeling instead of just hinting like she usually does.
