Laughton was good in Henry the VIII it helped that he looked a lot like him. A performance of his that gets over look is Ruggles of Red Gap.

No it should have been Fassbenders. For one it was a good performance and he has done a lot of good work and will continue to do so. Can you really say the same thing about Leto or Hill.

I get why he would pick Magic Mike he is quite entertaining in it and is totally different performance then the stuff that usually gets nominated. Also Christoph Waltz ended up winning a second Oscar that year. He was up against other previous winners.

The thing i find baffling is that dude who played Pachino's lover got a nomination but not Cazale. He is hardly in the movie and he only has that one scene.
