HDTGM has more of a polished sound, having three actors.  The first FH I listened to was Big Money Rustlas, and I could not get over their shitty voices, especially Elliot's.  But, just like the Hold Steady, it doesn't take long to forget those annoying voices once you hear what they are saying.

Because this site loves FoB.  Every album is like one of the best of the year, as far as they are concerned.

The previous album was also a top-25 of the year.  I think just Kyle had a hard-on for them, and it had to weighted appropriately ("they give me an actual hard-on") within the context of the rest of the staff ("they're terrible").  Every time I see a reference to them, I think, "That one guy at the AV Club fucking

Well, they were fawning over the film.  You're supposed to kick it around, not get suckered into it.  Don't you know how these podcasts work?

Yeah, this site's Permanent Records column a long time ago suggested to just put the 9 buckingham songs on a playlist. It's an awesome EP when you do it like that.

And Episode III gave us "Backstroke of the West" translation.  I'm more of a fan of the offsprings of the Prequel Trilogy than the movies themselves.

I can't tell you the number of SW-related garbage I acquired over the years— boxers, keychains, Monopoly, figures upon figures.  Most of this was like 15 years ago, but still.  And yet, I still wouldn't buy the Blu Rays without the original Trilogy on them. That was below a quality threshold that a C3PO pez dispenser

I said the same thing about China.

I said the same thing about China.

The mask thing gave her nightmares and she's had it out for them since.

The movie is actually about cloning.  They need both actors for the climactic battle to the death over the lava.

I hate biographies even more, because oftentimes you can smell the ghostwriter reeking through the pages.  Yes, I'm sure Slash has such florid prose and a photographic memory.  I'm consciously aware that biopics are hogwash, so it offends me less, but I still hate them.

Will someone write in a Grover Norquist cameo? Am I supposed to root for him or not?

All the big hit imports from Japan were carved up and totally rearranged.  Voltron is obvious now, and Power Rangers, at least the first season when it was campy and hilarious, didn't make much sense during the battle parts, so it had to have been totally lifted without regard to context.

JJ Abrams is the most obvious choice, since his Trek was just Star Wars, but why the fuck was Affleck number two? What leads you to belive he would be a competent sci fi director? It would be fitting for the franchise if they did give it to Affleck.

Yeah, so is the new one supposed to be MORE bleak and disturbing? Because Embryonic is already pretty there.

My problem with Embryonic was that it broke the awesome string of album openers.  "Race for the Prize", "Fight Test", "Yeah Yeah Yeah" are all among my favorites of them. I don't remember what comes first on Embryonic, but I know I don't remember it.

We still had to wait another year for a monkey to put its foot in Chaplin's mouth as it climbed up his face.

I did a spit double-take when I read the number of hours.  My library doesn't have Blu Ray ever, and neither does Netflix on catalog releases, so I usually end up purchasing stuff that I'm curious to see that I maybe wouldn't otherwise (ie Heaven's Gate last November).  Can you give any detail as to some of the extras?
