Friday: Watched Chico & Rita.  Loved the animation style, kind of old-timey animation but clearly computer animated when things rotated.  Loved the music, showing some of the Latin influence on the jazz scene.  The actual story and characters were pretty meh, but it was enjoyable.

I noticed that it appeared on Netflix Instant as well, but I'm intrigued to see the darker cut that was scorned by 80s test audiences.  So I guess I'm holding out to catch the Blu Ray with the original ending.

I love how they compressed about 3 hours of dialogue into 100 minutes in those 40s screwball comedies.

I'm excited for them anyway. I have never owned these before, and got a decent deal importing the UK set for around 100 bucks. If I'm a purist on this, I wait out a set that probably won't sell well anyways, and won't be redone again until the next format, i'm already waiting out Spartacus, and I could have picked it…

The hip-hop witch must be a shape-shifter, given how the rappers' descriptions of her were so wildly different.  Or because nothing was written, and everything was improvised.  But, because it was supposed to be a horror film, I'm guessing the shape-shifter reason.
