My favorite winter album is Hospice by The Antlers. There's just something weird about listening to that album when it *isn't* depressingly cold and dark.

This would be yet another garage rock revival band but for the singer's soulful vocals. I've listened to this album a few times through, and it's definitely solid.

I think Christgau is the greatest living rock critic. Although occasionally he gets a little obtuse, his reviews usually say more in three lines than most people can say in three paragraphs.
