Back when Sleepy Hollow was good, I remember wishing they'd cast Nicole Beharie as Carol Danvers. Not just for the sake of "racebending" but because she genuinely seemed to fit the role to me (obviously I'm very pro de-whitening the MCU also).

I remember when the AV Club reported on the accouncement of this movie some dude got really, really fired up about how that part *had* to be in the movie because it was an absolutely vital part of her backstory and motivation. Not because of his own psychosexual issues, no siree absolutely not.
